Insight into Korean Drama ''Nice guy'/ Innocent man' 2012 (Episode 1-4)

WOW. Absolute wow. This was the first thing I thought after watching the first 4 episodes of this drama. The other episodes have yet to air and I can hardly wait. Since my long break from dramas as a result of my school- my passion for dramas also became to faze. But fortunately, ''nice guy'' has brought me back to where I used to belong.

The cast
To start off with- I love the director's choice of actors. I have always been a fan of song joong ki since SKKS (review here) and the fact that he's in this drama made me want to watch it even more. His character here in ''Nice guy'', Ma ru was completely unexpected as it contrasted to his usual bubbly self. However- he is able to make the character of Ma ru believable, so we can see that he fits into many personae this way (showing the fact that he's a brilliant actor). In addition, I also love lead female actress moon chae won. I've seen her in ''princess man'' as well as ''shining inheritance'' and I was captivated by her potrayal of both characters which she played. She is absolutely stunning. Her expressions capture every moment and she really gets into character which is what I love about her. Likewise, she is able to adapt very well to her script E.g. she had a very feminine, soft character in ''princess man'' compared to her rough arrogant character in ''Nice guy''.

What is this drama about?
With credits to other drama sites (as well as my referral to the drama) where I have read about the synopsis, I have concluded that the storyline takes place whereby Maru is betrayed by his ex-girlfriend Jae hee many times and so uses Eun gee, the heiress to the Tae San company to avenge himself.

Why should you watch this drama
This drama is strangely captivating. The mysterious elements at the beginning of the episode makes you marvel at what sort of relationship the characters have between themselves.
Your opinion of the character of Maru changes constantly (which is probably why you are so interested in the multiple sides of his personality). At first, we admire his intelligence of discovering the illness of the child in hospital. Yet only a few moments later do we get angry at how stupid he can to take the blame for someone else's wrong doing for the wrong reasons.
It's frustrating- but at the same time clever because as the curious audience- we play the part where we have to sit back and wonder at what's going to happen to his future. This keeps us constantly curious throughout the first episode as the screenwriter cunningly spirals in more drama to keep us hooked onto the next episode.
I also love the character of Eun gi. Since secret garden, I have always loved the bad-arse heroine type of female lead- and eun gi here really displays that. She's carpooling with a senior director sitting next to her (like a man would) and screams and bickers at the car who's appeared out of nowhere. We can tell she's not one to mess with- but funnily enough, we admire her courage and there's a sense of humour out of how scared the director is.
And even though we can tell that this drama is going to be serious bundle from maru getting betrayed by his ex-girlfriend and eun gee trying to protect her father's company from her stepmother- there is something about the way this drama doesn't need a sense of lightheartedness to balance it out (even though there are many lighthearted scenes here).
I also love how the drama moves forward 6 years- even though it's hardly been half an episode already. It shows movement and progress in the storyline- unlike other slow and draggy dramas which I can't handle at all (not that every single drama needs time movement- but this one's an exception). And I love how maru and his ex-girlfriend who were seperated in those six years will meet again through eun gee- everything's spindled into each other and the drama's just one tight compact space, ready to explode. This jealous atmosphere I'm feeling from jae hee (maru's ex-girlfriend) as she sees maru with eungee is making me think- does she still have feelings for him? Why has she decided to give them up?
But one thing I'm also curious about is how maru's and eungi's love relationship is going to fold from this- or will it even?
The weird thing is the fact that both eungee and maru have been hurt by their past loves- but they are both still caught up in the moment with them and fail to appreciate the present. But I guess this is what the whole drama's about. Nevertheless- I am happy at the firm opening of the drama and hope that the storyline continues to stay this strong.

Thank you post

Hiii guys! It's crazyaboutdramas here :)
I just wanted to say thank you for reading my posts on my blog. I just signed in and can't believe how many stats I'm getting. I'm so thankful. I made this blog hoping to share my opinion with the world on the dramas that I watch, but I didn't expect so many of you to be viewing it.
I've been really busy with school work recently so haven't been able to review any dramas. My apologies. I haven't been watching many since school term either, but I will deffo watch more during half term.
Love you all and hope you have a lovely week ahead :)
